After what seems like an eternity living in pain, you have finally consulted with a doctor able to diagnose the cause of your pain. You are thrilled to have answers and looking forward to trying the treatment plan your doctor recommends to ease your pain. Oftentimes, a referral to physical therapy (or occupational therapy) is the first-line treatment for joint pain, muscle pain, and bladder pain. For many conditions, pain can be resolved without surgery. But if physical therapy alone previously did not provide adequate pain relief, your doctor may recommend other options including surgery. However, any of the following reasons may keep you from being able to have surgery:

  • Restrictions on elective surgeries due to extremely high COVID-19 cases in local hospitals
  • Losing health insurance coverage due to job change or loss
  • Health insurance won’t authorize surgery
  • The out of pocket surgery expense is too high
  • Physical health isn’t strong enough to withstand the anesthesia, stress of surgery, and recovery
  • Can’t take off work long enough for surgery and recovery
  • Don’t have a caregiver for yourself or dependents if you have surgery

If surgery is not possible for you, Integrity Rehab + Home Health may be able to help! Pain interventions available at Integrity include:
